Dear NY-APT Members,

 

After much deliberation, the board has decided we will not hold our spring conference on April 3-4 this year. The spread of the COVID-19 virus has caused great fear and has resulted in government advisement against traveling and congregating. We are currently reviewing our options including postponing and cancelling, but haven't come to a conclusion. We plan to hold the conference in Buffalo on April 16-17, 2021 with the same great speakers. While we work to determine the best course of action, we have decided to refund individuals who paid their registration. Refunds for this year's conference fees have already been issued.

 

Thankfully, airlines and hotels are allowing travelers to cancel and reschedule without penalty. While we will notify the hotel, we recommend that you also reach out to the Embassy Suites and let them know you will not be using your hotel room for our event.  

 

As the president, I want to offer gratitude to Ann Beckley-Forest and her local committee in Buffalo. Ann has been a Yeoman in her conference planning the past few years. She and her planning team worked tirelessly to prepare a stellar conference. While I am sad to see it cancelled, I am confident we will replicate it in the near future when we can all truly enjoy being together as a community of play therapists.
